Field Mechanic
Newland Enterprises Ltd. is hiring for a Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic to act as our Field Mechanic for our logging operations in Fort St. James BC. The field mechanic will run our fully loaded service truck for field servicing and work out of our shop for larger jobs; the service truck will be the sole responsibility of the field mechanic. The field mechanic will work with our shop foreman and bush supervisors to plan maintenance and servicing duties to keep the bush running efficiently. Preference is for local area candidates, but we also offer camp accommodation for non-local workers and would be open to working out a schedule.
Responsibilities:
Perform services and preventative maintenance on a logging equipment fleet
Maintain a clean stocked service truck
Work safely and independently following check in procedures
Communicate equipment condition and repairs to supervision
Order parts and communicate with service departments
Problem solving in a bush environment
Qualifications:
Certified heavy duty mechanic
2-5 Years related experience in forestry
Class 5 drivers license in good standing
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently

Compensation and benefits:
$40.00 – $55.00 Hourly
$1000.00 Annual Tool Allowance
$150.00 Annual Boot Allowance
